Set up your compliance profile
Answer a short wizard so compliance rules match your business.
Open Compliance Setup
Go to Compliance Setup from the sidebar. This wizard runs once to build your tailored compliance profile — it takes about 5 minutes and determines which obligations, assessments, and tasks the system generates for you.
Step 1 — Entity Type
Choose your legal structure: Business Name, Private Limited Company (RC-number), Public Company, Partnership, NGO, or Cooperative. This is the single biggest factor in which CAC and FIRS rules apply.
Step 2 — Registration details
Enter your CAC registration number (RC or BN number), your Tax Identification Number (TIN), and the date of incorporation. These are used to pre-fill regulatory filings and to verify your CAC status.
Step 3 — Business size
Select your company size (Micro: <10 staff, Small: 10–49, Medium: 50–249, Large: 250+) and enter your approximate annual turnover band. Size affects VAT registration thresholds, ITF liability, and audit requirements.
Step 4 — Operations and industry
Pick your primary industry from the list (Retail, Manufacturing, Fintech, Healthcare, Oil & Gas, etc.) and tick any regulated activities you carry out (e.g. financial services, food handling, pharmacy, construction). Each adds the matching regulatory body's requirements to your profile.
Step 5 — Data handling
Answer whether you collect personal data from customers or employees (almost everyone does). If yes, indicate the data types: basic contacts, financial data, health data, or biometrics. This determines your NDPA obligations and whether you need a Data Protection Officer.
Review your profile summary
The final screen lists all the obligations the wizard has identified for your business — VAT, PAYE, pension, NSITF, CAC annual returns, NDPA registration, and any industry-specific licences. Check the list and correct anything before submitting.
Tap Complete Profile
Tap Complete Profile. Your compliance dashboard, obligation calendar, and task list are now populated based on your answers. The system also flags any critical gaps that need immediate attention (shown in red on the dashboard).
