Choose how the customer pays

Take cash, card, transfer, split, credit (pay later), or cheque at checkout.

Open checkout

When the cart is ready, tap the Checkout button to bring up the payment options.

Cash

Pick Cash and type the amount the customer hands you in the Amount tendered box (or tap the exact-amount button). The screen shows the change to give back.

Card

Pick Card for a debit or credit card payment taken on your card machine. If you have more than one POS terminal set up, choose which one you used.

Transfer

Pick Transfer to show your account details. If you have more than one bank account, choose which one the money goes into. The screen then waits for the money to land (see the 'Take a bank transfer' guide).

Split

Pick Split when one payment isn't enough — take part on one method (say cash) and the rest on another (say transfer or card).

Credit (pay later)

Pick Credit to let a trusted customer take goods now and pay later. You must attach a customer, and you can collect an upfront part-payment. Big credit may need a manager's approval.

Cheque

Pick Cheque to record a payment made by cheque.

Credit Note (spend store credit)

Pick Credit Note to pay with credit the customer already has (from a refund or overpayment). Attach the customer first. If their credit doesn't cover the whole sale, you collect the rest another way. See the 'Pay with store credit' guide.
