Everything a Nigerian business needs to execute contracts digitally

    Nigerian-law contract library

Employment contracts, NDAs, service agreements, vendor contracts, and more — all drafted for Nigerian law, ready to customise and send.

    Legally binding e-signatures

Collect signatures electronically with the same legal validity as a wet signature under the Nigerian Cybercrimes Act and Evidence Act.

    Multi-party signing

Send a single document to multiple signatories in sequence or simultaneously — ideal for bilateral agreements and board resolutions.

    Bulk contract dispatch

Send personalised contracts to an entire cohort of employees at once — name, role, salary, and start date auto-filled from your HR records.

    Signing audit trail

Every signature is timestamped with the signatory's name, IP address, and device — legally defensible evidence in a Nigerian court.

    Secure contract storage

Fully executed contracts are encrypted at rest, linked to staff or customer records, and retrievable at any time — no lost paperwork.

Built for Nigerian employment and commercial law

Templates written for the Nigerian Labour Act, CAMA 2020, and common Nigerian commercial practice — not adapted from a foreign template.

    Labour Act–compliant employment contracts

All mandatory terms under the Nigerian Labour Act Cap L1 LFN 2004 are included: notice periods, leave entitlements, termination grounds, and more. You can add custom clauses before sending.

    NDA and confidentiality agreements

Protect your trade secrets and client relationships with NDAs that cite Nigerian law and specify jurisdiction, governing law, and remedy clauses Nigerian courts will enforce.

    Service and retainer agreements

Formalise your consulting, agency, or professional services relationships with agreements that include payment terms, scope of work, IP ownership, and dispute resolution via arbitration or litigation.

Linked to HR and customer records

Signed employment contracts attach to the employee's HR profile. Signed client agreements link to the customer record. You always know what is signed, what is pending, and what is expiring.

    Frequently Asked Questions

E-signature and contract questions from Nigerian business owners

Signed contracts are stored securely in Kontrol, encrypted at rest, and linked to the relevant employee or customer record. You can access, download, or share them at any time. There is no automatic deletion — your contracts remain available for as long as your account is active. For employment contracts, this is particularly important given the six-year limitation period under Nigerian law for contract disputes.

Yes. You can upload your own Word or PDF contract template, place signature and data-fill fields at the appropriate locations, and send it for e-signature through the Kontrol platform. This is useful if your legal counsel has drafted bespoke agreements for your business that you want to execute digitally without switching to a separate tool.

Stop chasing wet signatures on paper

Nigerian businesses on Kontrol generate and execute contracts in minutes — legally binding, audit-trailed, and stored alongside their HR and financial records.

Are electronic signatures legally valid in Nigeria?

Yes. Electronic signatures are legally binding in Nigeria under the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act 2015 and the Evidence Act 2011, which recognise electronic records and signatures as admissible evidence in Nigerian courts. For most commercial contracts — employment agreements, NDAs, service agreements, vendor contracts — an e-signature has the same legal weight as a wet signature. Exceptions include wills, real property conveyances, and certain notarised instruments, which still require physical execution.

What types of contracts can I generate on Kontrol?

Kontrol's contract library covers the most common Nigerian business documents: employment contracts (permanent and fixed-term), NDAs and confidentiality agreements, service agreements and retainer letters, vendor and supplier contracts, consultancy agreements, lease agreements, and shareholder agreements. Each template is drafted to comply with Nigerian law — including the Labour Act, CAMA 2020, and FIRS transfer pricing rules where applicable.

Does Kontrol generate employment contracts compliant with the Nigerian Labour Act?

Yes. Kontrol's employment contract templates are built around the Nigerian Labour Act Cap L1 LFN 2004. They include all mandatory clauses: job title and description, remuneration and benefits, working hours, leave entitlements (annual, sick, and maternity), probation period, notice requirements, grounds for termination, and confidentiality obligations. You can customise any clause before sending for signature.

How does the e-signature workflow work?

You create or upload the contract in Kontrol, add signature fields for each party, and send a signing request by email or WhatsApp. Each recipient receives a link to review and sign the document electronically — no app download or account required on their side. Once all parties have signed, the fully executed contract is stored in Kontrol, linked to the relevant staff or customer record, and available for download as a PDF.

Is there an audit trail for signed contracts?

Yes. Every signing event is timestamped and recorded — including the signatory's name, email address, IP address, and the date and time of signature. This audit trail is stored alongside the contract and is available for download. In any dispute, you can produce a complete signing history showing who signed, when, and from what device — which is critical evidence in Nigerian courts.

Can HR managers send contracts to multiple employees at once?

Yes. Kontrol supports bulk contract sending — for example, when onboarding a new cohort of staff or issuing updated employment terms across your workforce. You can select a contract template, map employee data fields (name, role, salary, start date) from your HR records, and dispatch individualised contracts to each employee for signature in a single batch operation.

Where are signed contracts stored and how long are they kept?

Signed contracts are stored securely in Kontrol, encrypted at rest, and linked to the relevant employee or customer record. You can access, download, or share them at any time. There is no automatic deletion — your contracts remain available for as long as your account is active. For employment contracts, this is particularly important given the six-year limitation period under Nigerian law for contract disputes.

Can I upload my own contract template instead of using the built-in ones?

Yes. You can upload your own Word or PDF contract template, place signature and data-fill fields at the appropriate locations, and send it for e-signature through the Kontrol platform. This is useful if your legal counsel has drafted bespoke agreements for your business that you want to execute digitally without switching to a separate tool.
